Uncle Hon B'day dinner @ Serdang

Uncle Hon, my best friend meow's father's Birthday last Friday. Invited me and mum together with some other of the family friends. He's 60 year old now! Hope life is good for him and his family =)

Lots of dishes they ordered that day! Thank goodness I brought my camera with me *^^*

Steam Herbal Eel

Toufu with Vege

Fried belacan mix vege

Fried "dunno which part" of Intestine
*this is nice, the intention doesn't have strange taste. In fact, it's chewy!

Curry fish head
*I don't see no fish head? =P

Chicken in Mamit style (left), & batter fried (right), coleslaw (middle)

Sweet & sour sauce crab
*I love tomato sauce, but I don't really like how it's cooked here.
The sauce and a lil' bland

Salted Egg fried Crab
*Now this is absolutely tasty! They made it taste pretty creamy and a lil' sticky, with very nice salted egg aroma.

Fried bun
*dip with the sweet sour crab sauce. It's super duper oily

Brownie of the day!
*from secret recipe. As usual

The happy couple

Daidomon, Authentic Japanese BBQ @ Great Eastern Mall, Ampang

Heard this was newly opened not long, thought it would be a good idea to try it out. So far, I've only tried Korean BBQ "once" (still hunting for more). More and more BBQ restaurants are coming out these days, another one recently opened is "Yaki-Yaki Japanese BBQ", which I haven't tried it too. They might have more varieties than Daidomon, I think.

Well, it weren't very pleasing for my taste bud. I find the varieties of food at the buffet counters are pretty ... Lousy? Hmm... more like Disapointing I would say. There's very minimal choices from fried rice to fried hokkien mee! I was like ... WTH???! No wonder everyone was running for the Ebi Tempura. And as for the meat to BBQ it, you have to order and wait for it to arrive. The nice ones run out extremely fast, which only left all the not so nice part of the beef.

Anyway, here are the photos :

3rd Floor of Great Eastern Mall
*could easily see it by taking the left escalator up.

Part of the Interior

Daidomon very own BBQ sauce (left) & Soy Sauce (right)

Mix Seafood
*white fish, salmon, prawn, cuttlefish ...etc

Random stuff from the buffet table
*Bamboo mussel, Seasoned Eggplant, Vinegar Seasoned octopus, snail, Baby octopus

Beef Tongue
*This is something really different! Never tried it before, but it taste great!
Slightly tender and chewier than beef meat itself

Strip Loin (Beef)
*So far the best taste among all the other beef choices

Onigiri
*Not very nice. Prefer it home made with TLC (Tender-Loving-Care)

Charcoal BBQ Pit

Melting Butter

Oyster

Butter Oyster (left) & Scallop (right)
*Both of these took quite awhile to get cooked

They have nice Japanese dolls display there! Love it to bits

大树头连记 @ Tmn Connaught

I was told that there's this "Coconut herbal chicken soup" that tasted so good at at Taman Connaught, Cheras. It's located very near to UCSI, not sure whether where it's exactly located. It's inside some terrence housing area and UCSI College is nearby too.

So, I visited this place last Saturday. And here's the photos:-

it's really under some trees thought

Toufu Yong Tou Fu

Stir fry vegetable with garlic and "Gei Ji"

Coconut Herbal Chicken Soup
*This is the best thing served here among the other dishes. MUST TRY!!
even better than the one I tried at Serdang.

Braise Yam & Pork
*This is Hakka style dish, I'm sure the ones cooked at home tasted better

Ginger steam fish
*Not the type of fish I favor. No comment

Xenri, Japanese Cuisine @ Old Klang Road

Xenri Signage
*Owh! I stole this photo from KampungboyCitygal , they are bloggers too =P

Weeee~ it's Thursday and I have a huge urge for Japanese food! Since I didn't want to travel anywhere far like Bukit Bintang nor Damansara Utama, and I would like to have a nice Japanese meal, so I decided to pay a visit to Xenri since it's so DAMN near but I have no idea why I didn't go ever since it's open for so DAMN long.

Okay, cut the crap. The food ain't that bad (tasted better than Zen & Rakuzen), though it's slightly a little pricey than Zen / Rakuzen, but the portion is bigger. So, still resonable lar... (for nice jappy food). Ambiance is great too! Freshness for food also not bad, since I read some reviews saying that they bring in fresh seafood every 2 weeks. Only thing I worry is there aren't much crowd due to it's location. Maybe it's weekdays... I don't know.

So, here are the photos I took and food I ordered just now.

Menu

Where we sat
*There are other seatings with nicer ambiance

Sushi Deluxe Rm68

Salmon Sashimi Rm26

Phoenix Roll Rm30
*they have another version that is mango instead of avacado, but I personally prefer this.

Unagi Kabayaki Rm38

Kaki Furai Rm35
*my fav, fried breaded oyster. It goes well with mayonnaise too if you don't like the sauce they serve.

Sushi Deluxe Rm12
*sakura season special from 1st April - 30th April
very expensive! the rice flour skin texture is not perfect, not gooey, sticky and soft enough.

This is how SMALL it is (X_x)~~~
now you know what I mean by "expensive"!
